10 Affordable and Cute Fall Outfits to Wear in 2020

Cute fall outfits to wear in 2020

Need some inspo on what to wear this fall? Check out these cute fall outfits that you can wear in 2020!

Without a doubt, fall is my absolute favorite season to dress for. I love layering cozy cardigans, stocking up on sweaters, and busting out my favorite booties each year when the leaves turn.

Trends change and flow but I tend to stick with some tried and true fall fashion essentials every year that I know will make a cute fall outfit. I usually stay with some combination of a sweater, dark jeans or skirt, and booties, but there’s a ton of different ways you can wear pieces like that and still come up with new outfits!

The season is just beginning, but I’ve already put together some pinterest-worthy fall looks I wanted to share with you guys. These fall outfits should be perfect for school, date night, a pumpkin patch, or any of your favorite autumn activities!

Hopefully these looks can provide some cute fall outfit ideas for you to bring in the best season of the year!

Here are 10 cute fall outfit ideas for 2020!

This look basically hinges on this super cute, chunky colorblock sweater (linked here — I can’t include it in the carousel below unfortunately). I think a cute statement sweater like this is such a great fall fashion piece and is so cute with jeans and booties like I styled here.

For this fall look, I paired this sweater with some black skinny jeans that I ripped knees in myself (check out my tutorial here!), some neutral booties, and a great fall hat.

A look like this is definitely one of those super aesthetic, cute fall outfits, but more than that, it’s SO comfy!

For this fall outfit, I just paired a cozy oversized sweater with my favorite faux leather leggings, white booties (which I’m definitely loving into fall), and topped it off with that same hat from the last post. Can you tell I’m totally leaning into the hat thing this year?

Two of my favorite items in my closet are my lace trimmed camis from Abercrombie and anything plaid — this top combines both for one of my favorite items in my closet.

Unfortunately, this exact cami is from last season, but I linked some similar items below, including this cami in some different colors that I think work great as well! Honestly, this is such a basic “outfit formula” that I wear all the time, so I think any cami + sweater + straight jean + bootie would be such a cute fall outfit!

I paired this cami with an oversized cardigan, some great straight leg jeans that I’m loving for fall, and white sock booties that I’ve linked here because I can’t include them in the carousel.

Speaking of plaid for fall, this little babydoll dress is a Target steal that was absolutely screaming to me from the rack. It comes in a few colors, but I love this blue and green one.

This is a true babydoll dress so I recommend sizing down if between two sizes because it definitely hangs away from the body! That being said, it’s a soft, cozy material that is such a cute twist on a fall flannel outfit.

I paired this with a go-to faux leather jacket and my all time favorite OTK boots, but I think it would look equally cute over a long sleeve black tee as well!

Let’s just keep the flannel looks going, shall we? There are so many great ways to wear flannel for fall, and this look is one of my favorite easy and cute fall outfits.

I paired an oversized flannel shirt with a cute lacy bralette — this one is my favorite dupe for the free people adella one bralette. I tucked it in to the same diy distressed black Madewell jeans I wore above and finished the whole look with some black booties.

I love this look because it’s so easy to throw together and still looks nice. This is definitely one of those cute fall outfits you can make with items you already have in your closet!

This might be my favorite outfit I’ve worn this fall. I love how it’s super trendy but it still feels like me, and it feels like an outfit I can wear next fall too!

I hopped on the “baggy cardigan as a shirt” trend and picked up this oversized cardi from H&M. I believe they only have blue online, but I know they carry the white in store, which is where I got mine. It’s huge, so size down!

I paired it with a black lacy bralette, black high waisted skinny jeans (my favorite Zara jeans that I also ripped the knees of), and chunky combat boots for one of my favorite cute fall outfits yet.

This look is one of those same same but different cute fall outfits that I think shows that all you need is a basic outfit idea and the execution can be slightly different each time, but you’ll always get a cute look! I reused the same or similar versions of items I wore in the above looks to make this outfit.

For this fall fashion look, I wore my favorite lace cami in a warm rust color, layered over a cardigan, and paired it with black skinny jeans, booties, and a cute hat to pull the whole outfit together!

Side note — I grabbed these boots at Nordstrom Rack but Target has an amazing dupe of them I linked below!

More jeans, camis, and cardigans? More jeans, camis and cardigans.

This fall outfit shows that you really don’t have to reinvent the wheel to come up with something cute every day. It’s made entirely of basic pieces you can wear a thousand different ways — I just happen to love wearing it this way!

For this look, I paired a staple white cami that I’ve had for years with black ripped jeans and a cozy tan cardigan. I finished the look with some coordinating western white boots, some simple sunnies, and obviously, my favorite iced coffee.

I’ve always loved the midi skirt and sweater look, but it can honestly be kind of difficult to make it a truly cute fall outfit since there can be so much bulk in the mix.

For this outfit, I paired a basic white sweater with a knit, side slit midi skirt — truly the queen of bulk. If I were re-styling this, I’d have gone with a slimmer or lighter sweater or a more form-fitting skirt to cut down on the bulk factor, but I think I made it work! I paired it with some simple snakeskin booties to keep it on-trend for fall 2020.

Okay, last up is definitely one of my all time most worn cute fall outfits! I love the warm tones, the mini with the OTK boots (definitely a transitional weather staple for me), and the simple accessories that really take this look to the next level.

This sweater was a Vici find from last season, so I was able to link some similar dupes but not the exact one. The skirt is also from last season — it’s Abercrombie’s A-Line mini skirt and I have about 8 of them. I linked this season’s version, but it’s not the exact same windowpane check skirt.

This is another look that resulted from one of my staple “outfit formulas.” It’s a fall outfit combination that really looks good with any variation of items. Whichever pieces you wind up with, it’s hard to go wrong with a mini, over the knee boots, and a sweater for fall!
