In this house, we love all black outfits. Black can hide a multitude of sins (coffee spills, for one) and personally makes me feel bad as hell. I love to rock an all black look whenever I can. My boyfriend’s t-shirt drawer looks like a cartoon character’s closet: rows of black shirts all carefully Marie Kondo’d into place. Suffice it to say we know our way around wearing black from head to toe.
Aside from making you feel amazing, all black outfits can work for literally any occasion. They can be dressed up for work, dressed down for travel, they can be a hoement for the club, they can be girly for brunch. A true chameleon. The best part of an all black outfit? You probably already have all the pieces in your closet to make dozens of them.
I dug into my dresser the other day to put together 5 different all black outfits you can wear for any event or occasion. These outfits are made up of simple outfit staples that you probably already have in your closet.
Here are 5 all black outfits for everywhere you have to go in 2020

Outfit #1
This is my go-to all black outfit. Whenever I don’t know what to wear and want to feel good, I throw on an oversized black t-shirt, tuck it into my favorite pair of black skinny jeans, and some black booties. I love to cinch everything in with a western belt, and then I’m done! I’ll wear this look out to the bar with my friends, out to brunch, and even to work (though I have a more casual workplace). It’s one of my staple outfit formulas that I always go back to because I know it’s reliable and looks good.

Outfit #2
As I mentioned above, sometimes you need a hoement. This is my all black outfit that’s perfect for the club, a date night, or any time you need to amp it up a little bit. This LBD is my absolute favorite — I have it in black and red — and I love how versatile and flattering it is. I paired it with my world-favorite over the knee boots (they are worth the investment, are the perfect heel height, and don’t slip down) because I am a complete sucker for a mini skirt/OTK boot combo. If it’s cooler, I love to throw a light bomber or leather moto jacket on over it. I finished this off with my favorite chunky name choker from Etsy.
Dress: Lulus | Boots: Goodnight Macaroon | Necklace: Etsy | Bomber: Zara (mine is super old but I found this one that’s similar that I might have to buy myself!!)
Outfit #3
I’m almost kind of sad that I won’t be going back into the office for the foreseeable future, because this all black work outfit is insanely comfortable and super cute. It’s so chic and easy to put together with things you already have in your closet. Just take a more fitted black tshirt with a pair of your favorite wide-leg pants (I desperately need to get these hemmed, I know). Add a belt to define the waist and break up the look a little and you’re done! I wore this with low, open-toe heels, but if your office isn’t crazy about feet pics then this look would be great with boots, mules, or flats, too!
Shirt: Target | Pants: Zara | Belt: Priceless | Shoes: Target
Outfit #4
The uniform in my friend group is a black top with blue jeans, but sometimes you want to elevate it a little. On those days, I love to take my favorite black “going out top,” like this one I grabbed from Abercrombie, and pair it with a simple black miniskirt. It keeps it on the more casual side because it’s clearly a top and skirt, but it still brings it a little push that jeans won’t give. Also perfect for those days where it’s so hot out the thought of shoving your body into jeans feels like a crime against humanity.

Outfit #5
This last look is one I always forget about in my closet, because it’s the easiest one and done out there and I always have to overcomplicate things. This all black jumpsuit is drapey, casual and comfortable but still cute, and has pockets. Best of all is it’s a super affordable amazon find! I just tossed my favorite bralette under it and it was good to go. I love this outfit for travel, because it looks good without compromising comfort. Plus, it’s just one piece so it’s super easy to pack in a suitcase.
