September has come, and with that, let’s bring on the fall fashion finds!
With the weather getting cooler (even just slightly), I’m so excited to start bringing fall fashion back into my life. Even though time has lost most of its tangible meaning, sweater weather is still sweater weather, and I will take the small win where I can get it.
Unfortunately, while I’m currently furloughed due to covid, I’m not exactly living a lavish lifestyle full of shopping sprees and new clothes for fall. And even though I’m usually into affordable fashion finds, I have to be smart and save my money for the time being.
So what do we do when our wants exceed our means?
Friends, we window shop.
And BOY do I love to window shop.
My online shopping style can largely be described as follows: fill my online cart with $500 of clothes, fail to find a coupon code that brings the total down to $50, quit the site and hope everything I want goes on sale later.
I’m very skilled at this method, so I figured as we all venture into autumn together, I’d share with y’all some of my favorite fall fashion finds I’ve been eyeing for this season. I’ve yet to pull the trigger on anything, but in the event someone wants to hire me for my design services, I’d basically guarantee you these items will be coming home to Kady.
As fall fashion goes, my style stays pretty much the same, if not slightly more muted than my summer clothes (which makes it easy to transition items from summer to fall). I typically try and stick to basics I know I can wear in multiple ways, layering pieces, and sweaters.
I. Love. A. Sweater.
Back when we were all working in offices, I had a fairly casual dress code, and probably wore my favorite pair of mom jeans, some ankle boots, and a different sweater every day. A new sweater lineup is probably the one thing I always prioritize buying for fall.
So, as these fall fashion finds go — I’ve found a good amount of sweaters.
But! I also love to wear a mini skirt in fall paired with my favorite over the knee boots, so there’s a couple of those as well.
I’m exploring keeping the midi skirt trend going into fall too, and seeing if I can make a midi skirt/sweater/ankle boot combo work on my petite body.
I also love a good light jacket, sweater dress, and some nice jeans, so I’ll share some of the cutest fall clothes in those categories as well.
Here’s all the fall fashion finds I want to buy this year!

Tops & Jackets
Puffer Vest | Rust Colorblock Sweater | Black and Tan Colorblock Sweater | Orange Drapey Sweater | Crew Neck Sweatshirt | Striped Sweater | Cable Knit Turtleneck | Sherpa Bomber | Flannel Shirt | Wrap Front Sweater | Faux Leather Coat | Open Front Coat | Fleece Zip Up | Puff Sleeve Cardigan
Ok, when it comes to cute sweaters for fall, I’m a little bit of a monster. Like, seriously, call me a member of the cast of Love Actually cause BOY do I love a good turtleneck.
I’ll try to keep this brief for you, but here are some super adorable sweaters I have my eye on this fall! A bunch of them, wildly enough, are Amazon fashion finds! Meaning they’re super adorable and prime eligible, and I’m definitely interested in getting my hands on them.
Last year, my perfect fall sweater was the Aerie desert sweatshirt. It’s so cozy, versatile, and perfect with leggings. I have probably half a dozen of them! This fall it looks like they have a very similar style they’re calling the good vibes sweatshirt, and I’m not saying it’s already in my cart in three colors… but it might already be in my cart in three colors.
Ok guys, I’ll be honest. I’ve never actually shopped at Pink Lily Boutique. Feels like an influencer crime, I know, but I just haven’t had the chance yet! After seeing some of the sweaters they have this fall though, that feels like it might change soon.
There are few things on this planet I love more than a good color blocked or striped sweater for fall, and Pink Lily has them in spades. This rust colorblock option? Beautiful. This drapey orange beauty? Sign me up. I truly cannot get enough of these sweaters. I can picture myself curling up with a pumpkin spice latte and my pile of fall sweaters, dying happily.
I was into cardigans for a long time in high school, but fell off the wagon in recent years. This fall though, I’m definitely feeling a resurgence coming on. This cropped puff sleeve cardigan from Abercrombie is one of my favorite fall fashion finds, and I feel like it’d be so cute with some high waisted jeans and layered over a bralette.
Beyond sweaters, I included some super cute light jackets, like this mauve sherpa bomber from Amazon. Anyone else really into mauve as a neutral lately?
This sherpa jacket from Abercrombie is a great dupe for the Patagonia Retro X jacket I’ve had my eye on FOREVER, so at less than $100 I’m definitely considering pulling the trigger and adding this to my wardrobe this fall.
I’ve always loved Zara’s super effortless coats as well. I feel like they’re such an easy way to elevate any look! Plus, they always seem to be the perfect weight for fall. I grabbed this long coat toward the end of the season last year and still absolutely love it. Plus, at under $50, it’s a total steal. They also have a faux leather one this year that I am VERY interested in.
I rounded out the picks with some fall fashion staples, like a cute flannel and a puffer vest, which might be a little too basic white girl for y’all but I still think can be super cute!
Bottoms
Curve Love Ultra High Rise Ankle Straight Jeans in Light Medium Wash | in Dark Ripped Wash | Vintage High Rise Skinny in Black | in Blue | BLANKNYC Grey Skirt | BLANKNYC Orange Skirt | Brown Plaid Miniskirt | Black Plaid Miniskirt
Bottoms in the fall for me is almost exclusively jeans and mini skirts. I absolutely love love loooooove a pair of over the knee boots with a sweater and a mini, but on my regular days I’ll usually just wear a pair of jeans.
I’ve been super into baggier jeans lately, even though they might not theoretically be as flattering on me as a skinny jean — I don’t care! Abercrombie’s Curve Love Ultra High Rise Ankle Straight Jeans are some of my absolute favorites, and I can already tell they’re going to be one of my go-to pairs when I style outfits for fall.
When it comes to skinny jeans though, I’m a one brand kinda gal and that brand is Zara. I have probably a half a dozen of their Vintage High Rise Skinny Jeans, including three black pairs, which are my go-to black jeans for work. The rise is super high, they’re comfortable without being constricting, and the length is perfect on my 5’3″ frame. I buy more every fall even though they last forever. Best of all, they’re less than $40!
As far as mini skirts go, I love a plaid number, and have a ton of these A-line mini skirts from Abercrombie as well. I have probably four or five plaid mini skirts already, but these new plaid patterns they just dropped this fall are so cute, I might need to grab another! I’m particularly loving this orange and brown plaid mini skirt — very autumn chic.
Another fall fashion find I always love are BLANKNYC’s collection of suede mini skirts. Each year, they come out with a handful of new designs, and they’re all so chic and beautiful! I love how they’re understated but all have some unique features. Plus, the quality is amazing and the price can’t be beat.
I currently have a BLANKNYC suede mini skirt in a dark navy and in gray, but I found this orange one on Amazon and thought it would be the perfect skirt for fall!
If bold isn’t your game though, the skirt also comes in this beautiful brown-grey, taupe, and a few more options!
Shoes
Over the Knee Boots in Black | Gray | Tan | White Snake Ankle Booties | Black Ankle Booties | Natural Snake Ankle Booties | White Stacked Heel Booties | Brown Ankle Booties | White Western Ankle Boots
I think we can all pretty much agree that fall fashion is the time to bust out the boots in full force. While I love a good mule, heel, or sandal, it’s time for them to step aside (pun extremely intended) and make room for ankle boots and over the knee boots.
I’ve already sung the praises of my absolute favorite over the knee boots, the Goodnight Macaroon OTK boots.
They come in three colors: Black, Taupe (which is more gray), and Tan. I have the black and taupe and they’re by far my favorite fashion investment, and a staple for me as far as transitioning my wardrobe across seasons. They’re also always on sale, usually for 40% off, making them the best over the knee boots out there for less than $100.
If OTK boots aren’t your jam, there are a couple other boots I’ve got my eye on this fall.
The white ankle bootie was a great trend for summer, and despite me ruining nearly every white item I own, I’m so very down to take them into fall as well. I think they add such a great pop to a dark outfit, and coordinate so well with all of fall fashion’s warm tones.
I picked up my amazing Sam Edelman Riker Booties in white a few months back (pictured below), and they’re still available *extremely* on sale.
If you’re looking for an ankle bootie to wear this fall that’s a little less western, these white ankle booties from the Lulus x Matisse collab look so cute! They have the perfect heel height, tons of 5-star reviews, and best of all, are only $50. They also come in a few other colors!
Animal print trend more your style? Get the best of both worlds with these adorable white snake print ankle boots from Dolce Vita. I’ll probably buy any ankle boot with a cute metal detail, and these are no exception.
If you’re yelling at your computer right now “Kady, please God stop trying to sell me the white boots, I’m just not into it!” I hear you. I get it. Maybe they’re not for everyone, and that’s ok!
I’m also beyond happy to say that my all time favorite black ankle booties are available on Amazon now.
Seriously, y’all. These are it. I’ve sung their praises many times before, but it bears repeating — these are the only black ankle boots you’ll ever need. They’re super on-trend with a faux croc embossed texture and they have the cutest little metal detail to make them a little different. They’re insanely comfortable and they are the. perfect. height. Like I truly feel like I can wear them with anything for any duration of time and I’ll be comfortable and look amazing. For this year’s fall fashion, into winter, spring, and beyond — you need the dang boots!

Accessories
Tan Wide Brim Hat | Michael Kors Crossbody | Spike Earrings | White Wide Brim Hat | Gold Stacked Necklace | Gold Spike Necklace | Adidas Baseball Cap | Waffle Knit Socks | Warm Toned Crew Socks
Call them what you want — a fedora, a panama hat, a rancher, a felted wide brim hat — I call them the “Instagram girl” hat. And as much as I absolutely wanted to resist, I finally got one this year.
I know. Is it cliche, bordering on basic? Yes. But does it look absolutely amazing with a cozy sweater and some ankle booties? YEAH IT DOES.
So who am I to judge?
I grabbed this adorable wide brim hat from Lulu’s a few weeks ago, and I’m totally in love. The neutral color goes with everything, it fits my head perfectly, and I find it’s an amazing finishing touch to any fall outfit.
I originally got it for summer, but as the weather turns and I’m digging the warmer clothes out of my closet, I’m thinking it’s about to be a sleeper hit of my fall fashion finds this year.
Here’s how I styled this hat with a sweater and some white ankle booties for fall.

Another similar option I’m loving? This Amazon fashion find is super affordable and honestly so cute and unique with the gold “strap” around it that I might have to just pick it up myself!
As far as other hats — and this may be a faux pas or whatever — honestly, I wear baseball caps all year round, especially in fall when it’s still a little too warm for a winter hat. I’m loving this neutral Adidas cap to bring some warm tones into the fall!
In general, I like to keep my accessories pretty consistent all year, but if you’re the type of person who sees fall as the season to stock up on new clothes, here are a few more things I’m feeling!
I love a set of cozy socks I can bunch up around my ankles for lounging around the house. I have and love these waffle socks from Target, but the color story on these socks from Amazon is giving me lots of fall vibes!
I’ve been really into gold jewelry lately as well. I just picked up this gorgeous spike necklace from Etsy that I’ve been crazy about since I bought it! If you’re looking for something a little more bold though, this stacked option from Amazon is also super cute!
Finally, I’ve had a small brown Michael Kors crossbody bag for years. Probably since I was in college. Has it seen better days? Sure. But is it the perfect bag for every fall outfit? Yes!
I had no idea Amazon carried Michael Kors bags, and apparently they carry the crossbody bag I love too! It’s a steal at less than $100, lasts forever, and matches literally every single thing you’ll wear this fall. Highly recommend!
Alright y’all, those are all the cutest fall fashion finds I have my eye on this season!
If you’re just down with the Prime life, here’s a little selection of all my favorite Amazon fall fashion finds I’m loving this season. Be sure to pin it for later!
